How to Choose the Best Flooring for Your Loading Dock

A loading dock can be one of the harshest environments for flooring in a commercial or industrial facility.  When you think about it, just about everything whether its raw materials or a large piece of equipment, it most likely passes through the loading dock.  The constant flow of a goods is usually accompanied by an often around the clock flow of forklifts, dolly traffic, truck drivers and dock worker who load and unload the shipments.  As if that weren’t enough, large bay doors that remain open can create thermal stress due to the temperature variance from inside to outside.  Extremely cold environments regularly use salt or de-icing agents which get brought in onto the floor surface.  Pallets can break, shipments can spill, and occasionally equipment can break and leak on the floor.  There really isn’t a surface regularly subjected to more abuse.

Best Floor Coating for an Auto Spray Booth

When a local auto repair shop installed a new state of the art spray booth in their shop, they were looking for a flooring solution.  The existing concrete was dirty, had some saw cuts and holes that would hold dirt and make it impossible to clean.  Since the quality of the sprayed finish is really dependent on the quality of the working environment, (the whole point of a spray booth) they were looking for a seamless option, that would reflect light, be easy to clean, and would hold up to chemicals and solvents that would be present in the painting process, and one that could withstand the 150 degree heat used to bake the freshly painted cars.
